Beretta Model S686EL – 12 Gauge Over/Under Shotgun – Boxed This Beretta Model S686EL over/under double barrel shotgun, serial number L26698B, is chambered in 12 gauge, 3-inch, and is designed to accept screw-in chokes. Renowned for its craftsmanship and reliability, the S686EL is part of Beretta’s premium line of sporting arms and features both elegant engraving and high-quality construction. The shotgun features 26-inch barrels with excellent bores. The barrels are topped with a ventilated rib and a fixed white bead front sight. Slight silvering is visible around the muzzle, along with a few small spots of light oxidation near the front sight and muzzle, but the original bluing remains strong and attractive, with a pleasing patina overall. The barrel flats are jeweled, with very clear factory proof marks on both flats and the water table. The barrels lock up tight, demonstrating excellent mechanical integrity. The receiver displays full-coverage floral and scroll engraving, with “P. Beretta” marked on both sides. The underside features the Beretta logo along with “Mod. S686 EL,” surrounded by matching scrollwork. The gold trigger is paired with a blued trigger guard that also carries engraving, showing only minor silvering on the edges. The tang-mounted barrel release, safety, and barrel selector are well finished, with the barrel release retaining its bluing. The stock set is finely crafted hardwood. The forearm is beavertail-style, checkered, and finished in high gloss, showing only very minor handling marks. The engraved forearm release and contact metal remain in very good condition. The buttstock features a checkered pistol grip and a gloss finish, with some light surface scratches and small mars. It is fitted with a black rubber recoil pad that incorporates an adjustable top section and remains in very good condition. The length of pull is 13 ¼ inches, with an adjustable drop at the comb for a custom fit. This shotgun is accompanied by a Beretta factory box, correct for the model, though the serial numbers on the box do not match the gun. Overall, this Beretta S686EL is in excellent condition, showing only light handling wear, and remains a finely engraved, well-balanced shotgun. With its quality construction, factory box, and refined detailing, it would make a superb addition to any sporting or fine arms collection. FFL Status: Modern
