Merkel K-2 Weimar Stalking Rifle – .30-06 Springfield – Hand Engraved & Signed This stunning Merkel K-2 Weimar stalking rifle, serial number K3130, is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and represents the finest in German craftsmanship. Manufactured in December 2007, this rifle is a custom, hand-engraved kipplauf that blends elegance, precision, and artistry. The rifle features a 24-inch octagon barrel with an immaculate bore that is shiny and bright. It is fitted with a fixed white-dot front sight and a dovetailed rear sight, both in excellent condition. The barrel retains its original deep bluing, complemented by crisp factory markings and a clear “Made in Germany” address on the left side. The boxlock receiver is a showcase of German engraving, fully encompassed with remarkable detail. The right side depicts a mother brown bear with her cub, while the left side displays a male and female red stag with a bugling stag centerpiece, all surrounded by traditional oak leaf motifs. The engraving is signed “K. Knoth” beneath the stag scene, attesting to its authenticity. The tang-mounted barrel release and safety are also engraved, and the trigger guard is decorated with matching oak leaf motifs. The rifle is fitted with a three-position external adjustable trigger system, offering settings of 1.5 lbs, 2.85 lbs, and 3.5 lbs for precise shooting control. The Weimar-style walnut stock and forearm are in remarkable condition, crafted with both function and artistry in mind. The beavertail forearm is checkered and enhanced with oak leaf details, while the buttstock features a checkered pistol grip, oak leaf embellishments, a raised cheekpiece for right-handed shooters, and a black rubber recoil pad. The pistol grip base is capped with an unmonogrammed sterling silver cap engraved with oak leaves, and the underside of the buttstock includes a three-round cartridge trap engraved in oak leaf style. Accompanying the rifle is a braided leather adjustable sling, also in excellent condition. Mounted atop the rifle is a premium Schmidt & Bender Zenith 1.5–6x42 scope with a lighted reticle. This scope remains in like-new condition, offering superb clarity and low-light performance, and is mounted securely.
