Bohler Rasant Model 98 – .30-06 Springfield – Exceptional Condition This Austrian-made Bohler Rasant Model 98 bolt-action rifle, serial number 7264, is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and showcases both European craftsmanship and the legendary Mauser 98 action. The rifle is fitted with a 22-inch Bohler steel octagon barrel with a full-length rib, terminating in a fixed brass blade front sight. The rib also carries a folding-leaf express rear sight. The bore is in phenomenal condition, bright with sharp rifling, and the barrel retains a deep, lustrous blued finish. The left side of both the barrel and receiver are crisply marked “Bohler Rasant” and “Mod. 98.” The jeweled bolt is in excellent condition, fitted with a strawed dog-leg bolt handle. The action cycles smoothly, and the safety is tang-mounted for convenience. The steel trapdoor floorplate and trigger guard display beautiful bluing, while the pistol grip is fitted with a steel cap. The gold-colored serial number is located just behind the trigger guard, adding a subtle decorative touch. The rifle is stocked in fine hardwood with a beavertail, checkered forearm, a checkered pistol grip, and a raised cheekpiece on the left side. The stock retains a warm patina with a light gloss finish and only a small mar above the trigger on the left side, otherwise remaining in remarkable condition. It is capped with a black leather-covered recoil pad, which enhances both comfort and elegance. Factory double sling swivels are fitted, with a braided brown leather sling attached, featuring a buckle adjustment in the front. Scope rings are mounted and remain in like-new condition, leaving the rifle ready for optics of choice. This Bohler Rasant Model 98 in .30-06 is a finely preserved example of European sporting rifle craftsmanship, combining the strength and reliability of the Mauser 98 action with premium Austrian materials and styling. It has been expertly cared for and remains in exceptional condition, making it both a functional hunting rifle and a desirable collectible. FFL Status: Modern
