Merkel K3 – .308 Winchester Stalking Rifle with Bushnell Scope This German-made Merkel K3 stalking rifle, serial number K5061, is chambered in .308 Winchester and represents the elegant simplicity and craftsmanship for which Merkel is renowned. This rifle is dated June 2012 and remains in remarkable, mint condition. The rifle is built around a 24-inch round barrel with a pinned blade front sight and a dovetailed rear sight. The bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling, and the barrel retains an immaculate matte black finish with crisp factory markings. The action features a break-open design for ease of transport and storage, with a cast top lever adorned with molded engraving and an alloy steel receiver finished in deep black. The rifle is equipped with a gold elevator block and trigger, with a three-position adjustable trigger pull offering settings of 1.5 lb, 2.85 lb, and 3.5 lb. The safety is tang-mounted with a raised profile, consistent with Merkel’s traditional styling. The stock set is finely crafted from select walnut. The forearm is beavertail-shaped and checkered, with the release located on the underside. The buttstock is Grade 2 walnut with a German “hog’s back” profile, hand-checkered grip panels, and an oiled finish. The stock is capped with a black rubber recoil pad and fitted with factory sling swivels. Mounted on factory Merkel quick-release mounts is a Bushnell Trophy 3–9x40 scope, in like-new condition. The scope’s duplex reticle, clear optics, and variable magnification provide versatility for a wide variety of hunting applications. This Merkel K3 is a stunning example of a modern single-shot stalking rifle, combining German precision engineering with traditional styling. Its elegant lines, premium walnut, adjustable trigger, and high-quality optic make it both an exceptional hunting rifle and a worthy addition to any fine firearms collection. FFL Status: Modern
