Ken Hurst Master Engraved Valmet 412 – One-of-a-Kind Four-Barrel, Two-Stock Set – Custom Built for Griffin & Howe This extraordinary Valmet 412 four-barrel set, serial number 221268, is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, custom engraved by legendary master engraver Ken Hurst and built exclusively for Griffin & Howe. The receiver is lavishly adorned with detailed scroll engraving, featuring a dove on the right side, a partridge on the left, and the model number on the underside. The work is double signed by Ken Hurst on the water table, further underscoring its significance as a unique collector’s piece. The crossbar safety and trigger guard are also engraved in matching style, with intricate scroll detail carried throughout. Barrels 20 Gauge O/U Shotgun Barrels: 26 inches, vent rib, fiber optic front bead and mid silver bead. Chambers 3 inches, choked IC/ Cylinder. Bright bores and stunning blued finish, proof tested and marked Made in Finland. 12 Gauge O/U Shotgun Barrels: 2 ¾ or 3-inch chambers, vent rib with EasyHit extended fiber optic bead. Accepts screw-in chokes (set of Trulock and unmarked extended tubes included). Bores immaculate, deep original blueing. Mid rib bead hole present but bead absent; small cosmetic mark near that location. Marked Made in Italy. .30-06 O/U Double Rifle Barrels: 24 inches, ribbed top with ramped front sight and folding rear notch. Bright bores with sharp rifling, superb blueing, minor oxidation at crown only. Marked Valmet Made in Finland. 9.3x74R O/U Double Rifle Barrels: 24 inches, with ribbed top, fixed blade front and dovetail rear sight with yellow insert. Bright rifling, exceptional condition. Marked Made in Italy. Optics Mounted with a premium Docter Comfort 1–4x24 German scope, featuring crystal-clear optics, multiple adjustment options, and outstanding clarity. Stocks Turkish Walnut Stock & Forearm: Custom high-grade Monte Carlo stock and matching forearm, beautifully checkered with a high-gloss finish, brown rubber recoil pad, and sling swivels. Remarkable figure and patina. American Walnut Stock & Forearm: Secondary stock and forearm with lighter gloss finish, checkering, and vented black recoil pad. Like new condition, offering a versatile option for the set. Accessories Custom Griffin & Howe Luggage Case: Leather-bound with reinforced corners, adjustable straps, and unmonogrammed oval plate. Interior lined in rich merlot felt with leather straps and compartments, including a custom Alexandre Mareuil compartment. Handle shows one missing screw but case remains excellent. Protective Zippered Carry Case: Leather-bound edges, showing light exterior scuffs but very good condition overall. Accoutrements: Leather sling with swivels (like new), four Trulock 12ga screw-in chokes, two unmarked extended 12ga chokes, and two unmarked black finished chokes, stored in a wood Nautica box. Condition All barrels and stocks remain in excellent to near mint condition, with clear proof marks and bores that are bright, sharp, and immaculate. The engraving is exquisite throughout, marking this set as one of the most important custom Valmet builds ever commissioned.
