Custom Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 – .270 WCF by Johnston Arms This custom Winchester Pre-64 Model 70, serial number 83119, is chambered in .270 WCF and was built by Johnston Arms, blending the legendary accuracy and quality of the pre-64 Winchester with custom enhancements. The rifle features a 26-inch barrel threaded for a KDF brake (24 inches without the brake attached). The barrel is proof-tested steel, finished in flawless matte sand Cerakote, with a hooded front sight and a flip-up buckhorn rear sight mounted on the dog knot. The bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. The receiver carries the same sand-colored finish, with a clear Winchester marking on the left side. The bolt handle is in exquisite condition, with the smooth cycling action and three-position safety typical of the pre-64 design. The floorplate and trigger guard show a pristine finish and remain in excellent condition. The rifle is topped with 30mm quick-release rings and base, both in excellent condition, offering a solid platform for optics. The stock is a McMillan M70 synthetic hunter stock, finished in matching Cerakote, with finely checkered forearm and pistol grip. The buttstock is fitted with a black rubber recoil pad, and sling swivel studs are mounted at the base. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped, ensuring scope versatility. This rifle is in remarkable overall condition, combining the highly desirable pre-64 Winchester Model 70 action with modern custom craftsmanship by Johnston Arms.
