Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver – .31 Caliber – Antique This antique Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver, serial number 190899, is chambered in .31 caliber percussion and classified as FFL Status: Antique. Manufactured during the height of Colt’s 19th-century production, the 1849 Pocket Revolver became one of the most popular personal sidearms of its era, carried widely throughout the mid-1800s. This example is fitted with a 4-inch octagon barrel, which retains heavy silvering but still shows areas of original finish. The barrel top remains clearly marked: “Address Col. Sam Colt New-York U.S. America.” The revolver does not currently function properly, as the cylinder is out of time. The cylinder shows scattered pitting with minimal finish remaining, though original roll engraving is faintly visible. The trigger guard and backstrap are brass, well-preserved and showing attractive age. All visible serial numbers are matching, confirming its originality. The two-piece walnut grips remain in excellent condition, showing only minor handling marks and a beautiful aged patina. Though showing honest wear from age and use, this revolver retains much of its historic character. With matching numbers and clear barrel address, this piece represents a genuine and collectible Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver, highly desirable among antique American arms collectors. FFL Status: Antique
