Remington Model Seven – .308 Winchester with Leupold Vari-X III This Remington Model Seven bolt-action rifle, serial number S7600833, is chambered in .308 Winchester and represents one of Remington’s most compact and versatile sporting rifles. First introduced in 1983, the Model Seven quickly earned a reputation as a go-to rifle for hunters navigating thick brush or rugged terrain, where quick handling and reliability are essential. This example features a 20-inch stainless steel barrel with a 1:10 twist rate, sharp rifling, and a bright, clean bore. The barrel has a matte stainless finish and remains in excellent condition, complemented by a matching matte stainless receiver and a jeweled bolt. The bolt handle is strawed, and the bolt action cycles smoothly. The rifle is equipped with a right-side safety located behind the bolt handle, and a crisp X-Mark Pro trigger. The floorplate and trigger guard are also in excellent condition, with the rifle offering a 4+1 capacity. The stock is a black synthetic H-S Precision model, fitted with a black rubber recoil pad, and remains in like-new condition with no checkering. It is equipped with double sling swivels and includes a black nylon adjustable sling. Mounted on the rifle is a Leupold Vari-X III Gold Ring 3.5–10x40mm scope with a duplex reticle and crystal-clear optics. Known for ruggedness and reliability, the Vari-X III is a premium scope highly sought after by hunters. The scope is mounted using a Millet mount on the factory drilled and tapped receiver holes, ensuring a secure and stable setup. The rifle has a 13 ¼-inch length of pull and is in remarkable overall condition—difficult to improve upon. This combination of a compact stainless steel Remington Model Seven in .308 Winchester, topped with a high-quality Leupold Vari-X III scope, makes for an outstanding hunting rifle that is both functional and collectible.
