Winchester Model 70 – 7mm Remington Magnum with Redfield 3x9 5-Star Scope Produced in the 1970s, this Winchester Model 70 bolt-action rifle, serial number G1122611, is chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum and topped with a Redfield 3x9 5-Star scope, securely mounted on a Leupold scope base and rings. This configuration provides a stable and dependable optics platform, enhancing both accuracy and usability in the field. A fine example of “The Rifleman’s Rifle,” this setup reflects the legendary reputation of the Model 70. The rifle features a 24-inch barrel with a bright, shiny bore and excellent rifling. The barrel retains strong factory bluing throughout, with only a minor mar on the underside and slight silvering at the muzzle. It is factory drilled and tapped, as was common for this period. The action is smooth, with a jeweled bolt that cycles cleanly and retains its original finish. The receiver displays beautiful original bluing with a crisp Winchester marking on the left side. The rifle is fitted with the classic three-position safety, located on the right side behind the bolt handle, showing minor silvering from age and use. The hinged floorplate and trigger guard retain most of their original bluing, with only light edge wear, and the rifle maintains its 3-round magazine capacity. The stock is a classic walnut design with an ebony fore-end cap and finely checkered forearm panels on both sides and bottom. It has a single sling swivel stud and shows only slight signs of use, with lightening of the wood around the floorplate and a few faint handling marks. These minor details add character while underscoring the rifle’s overall well-cared-for condition. A fine example of a Post-64 Winchester Model 70, this rifle embodies the accuracy, dependability, and timeless design that has made the Model 70 legendary.
